Okay, this site is still fairly new, but there are already a number of tagging issues that are arising.
Character/copyright tags:
This is a unique issue for AI generated work. The AI itself, after all, does not know of any characters they are drawing. The person controlling it does, but the end result will often be unrecognisable, even when you are looking at the image actively seeking out the resemblance to the character (this can happen with human drawn art as well but at least then it's a deliberate attempt to create an alternative version of the character and will usually be given some sort of context). Or worse, you end up with weird fusions of characters. How many of the 39 character tags on post #808 do you recognise in the image?
Do we want character tags to be there for people looking for art of that character, or to represent any image where any of the art used to generate it came from the character, no matter how little the image resembles them?
General tags:
Tags like lips seem to be being used on almost every image on the site right now. Do we really want to go down that route?
Plus a lot of tags seem to be being used completely willy-nilly. Perhaps someone thinks an (unchecked) AI should be used to tag the images? Where's the sunrise over a desert with a snowy mountainous horizon in post #252 @fredgido ? Or just about ANY of the tags on post #786? Doing this renders the tags completely pointless. There are 36 images tagged mountainous horizon and post #647 seems to be the only thing remotely close to actually having one right now! What's anyone going to get out of a tag like that?
The character/copyright tag issue is one I've tried to think about, but I'm not really sure how to go about it.
My first thought was to go about tagging all images as original since generated art can either look similar to a particular character, be a fusion of multiple characters, or just be something almost completely different (with a trait or two similar) and simply deeming any likeness of a particular character/person/creature/whatever as purely coincidental.
If someone is going to search for art of a particular character, it should be of that character and not of a look-alike. Something like post #808 doesn't make any sense to me looking at it because some of the characters in the image look similar to others so I have no idea how I would be able to expect anyone else to be able to easily differentiate them.
Next, the gentags. I fully agree on the gentags being an issue. There's already a lot of tag bloat going on (and I'm admittedly a part of that problem.) It's been a growing concern to me throughout the course of yesterday, and I would really like to see conventions in place as what Danbooru has, but I really don't know where to start with that and I feel like tackling this one alone isn't really feasible...
Taking just the few posts you provided as an example, I fully understand tags like lips and eyebrows_visible_through_hair having very little (if any) utility and if I recall the latter tag was deprecated on Danbooru for exactly that reason too. Next, post #786 is a rather egregious example of tag bloat; there's some subjective tags, tags that don't make any sense in context of the image itself, and tags that quite frankly shouldn't even exist on here. Regardless of the reasons why it happened, that image has no reason to need 78(!) tags.
The way to better tagging conventions is going to require a pretty sizable cleanup. Images with a particular theme can be put into a pool or something, but tags are supposed to help people find images they want to see easier and having all of these tags clogging up posts helps nothing.
Thankfully, as the site still doesn't have 1,000 images it shouldn't be too awful and I'll see what I can do about improving the pool a bit.
