variant set
A post that is part of an image set containing a base image and one or more alternate versions. Some part of the base image must remain unchanged (usually the character's pose).
Common examples of changes within the set are:
- Different costumes, outfits, or underwear
- Different stages of undress
- Text and textless versions
- Changing speech bubbles for ongoing conversations
- Changes in facial expressions
- Different stages of sex acts
- Slight changes in pose (usually just the limbs)
Images in variant sets must contain intentional, significant changes made by the artist. The following do not count as part of a variant set:
- Revisions
- Duplicates
- Compressed/uncompressed versions
- Censored/uncensored versions
Not to be confused with variations, which are multiple variations within the same image.
If the set contains 6 or more images, use large variant set.
