MSS-008 Le Cygne

A Newtype-use, Gundam-type mobile suit that is designed for Asuna Elmarit's use.

Unlike several mobile suits during the Gryps Conflict, the Le Cygne doesn't transform and it is armed with some experimental equipment, such as a large, physical shield with several thrusters that adds onto the Gundam's speed and mobility, which also enables the shield to be used as a very effective ramming weapon, and a type of double-bladed beam saber that is called a Twin Beam Trident (the beam emitter on each end can generate 3 beam blades: one with a standard length in the middle and 2 shorter ones at the sides. Hence, its name).

Its design is also unusual for a UC-era Gundam-type mobile suit. Its real life designer, Sayama Yoshinori stated that he created the Le Cygne's design with a kunoichi motif and also removed a number of standard Gundam traits onto it (ex. having a forward extending shoulder armor instead of standard sideward extending ones)
