Appearance
She has purple eyes, short grey hair with blue colored inner hair and a few pink streaks. Her default hairstyle is an asymmetrical bob cut with a single hair intake and long asymmetrical bangs covering her right eye, long hair with a hairclip in either a two side up or low twintails with hair rings with her second outfit. She also has small gradient feathered angel wings going from white to blue and a star-shaped halo (which is sometimes compared to a shuriken) floating off-center over her head.
Outfits
Her default outfit consists of a grey cropped jacket with long, wide sleeves going with sleeve cuffs past her wrists with aiguillettes and a sailor collar, worn over a white shirt and a short black turtleneck frilled dress (although it's often depicted as just a separate turtleneck shirt and black frilled miniskirt), a blue bowtie, a yellow armband, blue gingham socks or kneehighs held up with legwear garters and black boots.
Her second outfit consists of a white beret a black sleeveless short pleated dress with frills, with a blue belt, a white jacket with puffy long sleeves, a necklace with her signature shuriken halo, black partially fingerless gloves, a thigh pouch, uneven mismatched legwear (a blue thighhigh and a black kneehigh) and white sneakers.
Her New Years outfit is essentially in the Wa Lolita style, with a sleeveless kimono with a frilly petticoat underneath and shoulder frills, secured with an obi with frills, lace and a large bow, itself decorated with her halo. She wears detached sleeves with frilly layers, ending with ribbon trim and decorated with knotwork. Her outfit is primarly white and blue, with pink as an accent color. Her hair is in a single side bun in this outfit, with hairclips and a braid. Additionally, she also has hamster ears with this outfit.
Personality and trivia
Lore-wise, she is presented as an angel and a member of the student council.
She is also known by her nicknames "Kabaya" (derived from a misspelling of her name), "PPTenshi" ("PowerPoint Angel", originated from her habit of using Microsoft Powerpoint during stream), and "Gorilla" (due to her revealed that she has 50kg of grip strength). Apparently, she is noted for her questionable fashion sense (the PP Tenshi T-Shirt is an example of this).
She and Kiryu Coco are real-life roommates, and the apartment they share is nicknamed the "KanaCoco House" by other members of Hololive who visit to hang out.
Despite the fact that she's an angel, her room is so messy that Coco has repeatedly described it as a "Maou's lair", and even Houshou Marine was disappointed to see that Kanata's definition of "cleaning up" for her... Was just making sure she had a clear space to lie down in.
On 16 May 2022, she unveiled her mascot: Upao, a blue axolotl, which would also serve as the mascot of her Minecraft "construction corporation" named Kanaken/Kanata Kensetsu as she had left her previous kensetsus Usaken and AKUKIN on the same day.
