Edit
The Republic of China flag, often called simply the Taiwanese flag, is the flag that has de facto represented Taiwan since the end of the Chinese Civil War. The design consists of a white sun in a blue canton on a red field. In Chinese, the flag is commonly called the Blue Sky, White Sun, and a Wholly Red Earth flag.
Used by the Kuomintang party since 1917. The official flag of the Republic of China since 1928. Since 1949, mostly used in Taiwan, where the Republic of China has continued to exist.
Not to be confused with the People's Republic of China flag (the flag of Mainland China, widely known simply as the Chinese flag).
