Science fiction visual novel by âge, and the third part of the original MuvLuv trilogy. After the events of MuvLuv Unlimited, Shirogane Takeru awakens in his room once again, though this time with his memories from Unlimited.
Alternative is the most well regarded and popular part of the series, and the original VN inspired several spin-offs and sidestories including Total Eclipse, The Euro Front, Schwarzesmarken, and Strike Frontier.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Makishima Azusa was published from August 21, 2007 to April 27, 2017. This adaptation added extra scenes from other characters' points of view that were not present in the original VN. An anime adaptation began airing in 2021, with two games (Project MIKHAIL and Immortals: MuvLuv Alternative) launching to accompany it.
