Edit
Solid-body electric guitar first introduced by Fender in 1958, preceding its visually similar sibling the Fender Jaguar by four years. Much to the irony of the company's initial marketing towards jazz musicians as evidenced by its name, the Jazzmaster instead gained success within surf rock musicians. One of its most relevant roles came in the late 80's and early 90's with the shoegaze movement led primarily by My Bloody Valentine.
Characters that mainly play Jazzmasters include Hisako from Angel Beats!.
Key visual differences from the Fender Jaguar include:
- Larger pickups.
- A longer-scale neck.
- A simpler switch circuit system, the biggest visual factor being that the controls aren't recovered with chrome around them.
