Officially released by MICA Team in 2013 (known initially as Girl of the Bakehouse/Girl in the Bakehouse ~ Withered, a visual novel released in 2008/09, before being overhauled between 2008 and 2013 with Yaomeng's Studio GameMaster, with later plans of a follow-up before a falling out between the two studios occurred; preceded in development by the unfinished Epiphyllum), and set in 2092.
It is set in the same universe as MICA's following production, Girls' Frontline, released in 2016. GFL takes place in 2062, roughly 30 years before the events of Bakery Girl.
In 2019, MICA announced that they would be remaking Codename: Bakery Girl, now titled "Reverse Collapse: Codename Bakery", for PC, mobile devices, and the Switch.
