I'm like 90% mass prompt, then sort out the good ones to upscale, then if any are unsalvagable 'll cut from the final set.
On images that I can't prompt and need to build my own scene to fit the request I'll prompt individuals then use background remove.com to cut them out and paste them in photoshop to build my scene. Img2img mask inpaint to blend characters and backgrounds until I think it's good.
